What is P-TECH
Pathways in Technology through Early College High School.
An open-enrollment program that creates workforce pathways aligned with high-demand, high-wage fields throughout the state. Students enrolled in the P-TECH program work toward an associate degree while gaining hands-on work experience.

The mission of the P-TECH at Cedar Ridge is to equip students with both academic knowledge and the professional skills required to enter into a high demand, high wage medical career field and become a productive member in society.

P-TECH PLAN
- School Within a School (SWS) Model @ Cedar Ridge High School
- Focused Pathway : Health Science ( Licensed Vocational Nurse)
- LVN Nursing program (Pending approval by Spring 2025 Accreditation
Commission for Education in Nursing and the State Board of Nursing) - Proposed program complete summer after HS graduation but could extend to
Fall of 2029 based upon individual student progress - Offers Level 2 Certificate and/or Associates of Applied Science Degree
- Will require summer learning and the passing entry level test into program
- LVN Nursing program (Pending approval by Spring 2025 Accreditation
- Small Cohort size- Must start in 9th grade
- Summer Bridge Program (Completed)
- The cohort to begin in Fall 2025

P-TECH
Program Requirements
- A complete declaration packet, including one Teacher, one Counselor & one Administrator/Community Leader Recommendation
- Be prepared for a rigorous course of study
- College-level maturity & behavior expected
- Pass the TSI. * * Due to the rigorous class scheduling, students will not have room in their daily class schedule for electives such as band, sports or other extracurricular courses.

*Students are eligible for transportation services if they reside in District and more than 2 miles from the Cedar Ridge High School. Bus stop distance from home is not guaranteed.
Passing the TSIA!

Students will need to pass reading, writing and math sections of the TSIA in order to take ACC courses in the
P-TECH program.
What if a student isn’t able to meet the required TSIA score(s) to get accepted into ACC?
Students will remain a P-TECH student and move into the traditional Health Science pathway options offered
at Cedar Ridge:
Practicum – Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
